Just like the left here, Daniel has been attacked and demonized for espousing these views on their healthcare system. Daniel, who is on family vacation, brilliantly attacked this nonsense in his blog today. Its not just that he's articulate, its that he is Brilliant, knowledgeable, a historian, and he is a critical thinker. He dismantles his critics point by point, just as I attempt to do, and just as i would love to see someone in my country do. We need conservative leaders that are as articulate and intellectual as this man. Enough with folksy rhetoric..give us red meat!
Hannan is a fool. He is a minor British politician (does anyone care about the European Parliament? No.) who has just been slapped down by his own Conservative Party leader for his insane interview with Fox News.
ReplyDeleteWe in Britain are finding it amusing to see the lies being told about our health service. It's actually funny to see the untruths being peddled. Do American journalists actually just make everything up?
It's annoying, however, to see a British politician colluding in those lies.
By the way, does Fox News report three undeniable facts about healthcare in the US and UK?
1) British health care is cheaper than America's. Britain spends half as much of its GDP on health care as the US.
2) Britain has a higher life expectancy than the US.
3) Britian has a lower infant mortality rate than the US.
Oh, I forgot, it's all about socialized medicine and death panels!

ReplyDeleteAs far as Daniel Hannan..he may well be a 'minor politician' in Europe, but i don't think he is a fool. He seems to be very well informed on the issues and has a broad understanding of History. He also is the ability to critically analyze the issues, and reason through them, not to mention articulate them. He's a minor celebrity over here!
I did see that party leaders were upset at his comments, which is why i posted his rebuttal to those critiques.
What has Daniel Hannan said that is a lie about your system? Are their not wait lines? Are you not powerless to find another doctor or hospital if yours in not serving your needs? From what i hear there are lies that are also told about our healthcare..by our media, yours, and others around the world.
Fox news is everyone's favorite whipping boy, but all news is beyond biased, yes, including the BBC.
America is alot bigger than GB, so a universal system would be much more expensive for the US. The US system has its problems, just different ones from yours. We all admit that. We just dont want to give up the good parts of it, we would rather like to improve on it overall.
